Mark Hirschhorn is a longtime senior executive who has guided firms such as ArisGlobal, a pharmacovigilance SaaS technology provider. Today, Mark Hirschhorn leads Talkspace, where he directs the operations of a behavioral health services platform that brings clients together with trained and licensed therapists via video chat and text.
In mid-January, 2021, Talkspace announced that it would take the significant step of going public. The move was supported by Hudson Executive Investment Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), with Talkspace valued at $1.4 billion, including debt. This reflects a rapid growth profile that has included a partnership between Talkspace and Cigna in developing a digital behavioral health network.
In 2020, private technology companies increasingly sought mergers with blank check companies, or SPACs, as an alternative route to the traditional initial public offering. With the deal in place, the combined company will have a “TALK” listing on Nasdaq, with $250 million cash generated for use as growth capital.
